No difference. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Whatever effect a conviction would have on the election is already baked in. Everyone already knows Trump is a criminal. People either don't care or are already voting for Biden.

I'll go a little against the grain and say I think either a acquittal, hung jury, or guilty but just of the crimes as misdemeanors will serve to boost Trump a bit, in order of most impact there.

I can see it swaying some amount of suburbanites who maybe were put off by the criminal indictments; Trump being found innocent in what is increasingly likely to be his only pre-election trial giving them the boost to hold their nose and vote for him.

Of course being found guilty of felonies will hurt Trump as well, the question is by how much.

I don't care. I don't need a jury to convince me that Trump is a criminal and a fascist. I've known that for years.

Let's just wait a week and find out. No major party nominee has ever been convicted of a felony in the runup to an election, of course. We're treading new ground here, people.

It would lower his chances significantly with independent voters and Republicans still voting for Haley.  No significant impact on the MAGA crowd, but the first portion should be enough to deny Trump the presidency.

No difference or lower chances.

It really depends how Americans are going to take it and how long they'll care, if they do at all.

Americans have said in polls that Trump being convicted would reduce his support. I just don't know if that will happen in practice over the New York trial.
