DWTL.

Though Mitty does hold the distinction of there being basically absolutely no place in the country that would elect him due to his combination of views.

Mitty also would be very easy to tie as corrupt due to his love of corrupt politicians, regardless of party. I wouldn't exactly call that being "ahead of his time"

brtd, as ive stated before, if it was one of your beloved radical leftists like pete stark or herb kohl that was accused of the same charges as dollar bill jefferson, you would be defending their right to be perceived innocent until proven guilty (as would i)

but since it is black who isnt a poverty pimp, you are calling for his ouster.

either myself or Waltermitty. Tongue

dwdl wouldn't stand a chance except with the extremist branch of the CP.
BRTD simply wouldn't get elected as he'd probably carry about half the states John Kerry did.

actually a lot of people on here wouldn't be un-electable because of their veiws, but they lack in personality.  Plus there's about 7 people here that are 35 or older Tongue

DWTL, Straha, BRTD, Gporter are the big ones

Then I'd say myself, Flyers, Mitty, Verily, Soulty, Jfern, Phil, Naso

for those in the second group, its not really meant to be a slight against them, but I just dont think the voting population could take either their views, personality, temperment, appearance, or some combination of them.

Personally, i think a bunch of us in that second group would be prone to a campaign killing public outburst due to the general stupidity of the voting public.

You're probably right. And given the kind of elected leaders we have, I think you won't take that as an insult.

Clearly my mix of ultra-libertarian and indivualistic social politics, my complete disdain for the instutions of Irish life and society (not to mention the rancid anti-intellectualism found everywhere) and hatred of "Gombeenism" and Client politics clearly makes me such a winner in Ireland that I just stay out of the race to make sure the other parties don't get humiliated. Willie O' Dea winning Limerick East with 2.5 quotas shows this for sure!

In other words, I can't wait till I start (and finish) my university education and then get the F**k out of here. Wink

I would never defend any politician caught with $90k in their freezer. And one is allowed to have an opinion on the case before he is proven guilty, especially since I'm not the judge or on the jury. And is there any doubt he is going to be found guilty? The evidence is crystal clear.

but in this case, he had 90,000$ in his freezer. If the politician say, was accused of something not so concrete, then maybe you'd have a case.
