Russians and Germans make better movie villains than Arabs becuase they're smarter and wear better uniforms. Plus they're white, so it's easy to find a big-name, blonde-haired, blue-eyed hollywood actor to play one. Russians have the perfect mix of civilization and savagery, while a German is the product of the world's most advanced civilization, and yet is capable of unspeakable acts of cruelty.  Your rank and file Islamic militant is a brainwashed, poorly-educated religious fanatics without any real sophistication or complexity. You can do a lot more with an educated Soviet or Nazi character than you can with a simple-minded militant who grew up in a village and has only read one book in his whole life.

Actually there are three Russian accents.
