Larry King interviewed Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt last night on how he linked Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) to an alleged prostitution ring. Flynt now says he's got information linking another U.S. Senator to a sex scandal.
FLYNT: We've got good leads. We've got over 300 initially. And they're down to about 30 now which is solid.

KING: When are you going to print?

FLYNT: Well, the last thing now is we don't know if we want to let it to drip, drip, drip or we want to go with everything at once.

KING: You mean you might release 30 names at once?

FLYNT: A good possibility.

KING: Will we be -- I don't want to get into names yet. Will we be shocked?

FLYNT: Yes.

KING: Were you shocked?

FLYNT: I was shocked, especially at one senator but...

KING: One senator especially?

FLYNT: Yes.
Last month, Flynt offered a $1 million bounty to anyone who could provide proof of an illicit sexual encounter with a high-ranking government official.

Byrd's a Democrat. Flynt said somewhere that he is only going after Republicans.

During the piece Flynt did on MSNBC last night he seemed to indicate that there were two more Senators, and 25 Congressmen - that in addition to a number of executive branch officials, that he could connect to using the DC Madam.

Our political leaders can lie to us and steal from us and the American people will largely just shrug their shoulders - but a little hanky panky involving sex, and folks are suddenly interested in what their political leaders are doing (as far as their sex lives go - no farther of course).

Oh well, I hope it crushes the morality cops - but I doubt it will. The American people will just find new morality cops to lie to them.

It appears to sell fairly well even non-news wise on Capitol Hill. Smiley

There's nothing really wrong with this. Ken Starr did it. Why can't Larry Flynt. In fact, congress authorized Starr, so it terms of distance, this is nothing new.

I must admit I find this terribly entertaining because sexual hypocrisy is the best kind.  But I'll be honest here, I don't really have a problem with someone going to a hooker.  If it is cheating on their spouse then I think it is wrong.  If the hooker is being forced into the act or is under the age of 18 then I think it is wrong.  But otherwise I have to say I think it is kinda silly that prostituition remains illegal.  Wouldn't it just be better to legalize it, tax it, and regulate it?

The dangerous side of this Washington sex scandal is that a lot of the people involved here most likely have security clearances.  How hard would it be to blackmail them?  Doesn't that inherently present a national security threat?

It certainly would seem like a potential problem given that it is important to appear to be a puritan when serving on Capitol Hill.

Like Flynt said - payback is a bitch. The morality cops have been in his shorts for years and even had him thrown into jail nine different times. This is a chance for him to settle old scores with those that have used him to score political points.

We have signs around here which basically says "Don't do something that you wouldn't want your mom to read about in the newspapers."  It is a security risk, let alone a distraction to the daily operations in the office/company.  Maybe these signs should be posted in every office in DC.

MODU, I don't know what goes on in your family, but for the rest of us, hooking up with mom is not common practice.

Perhaps it might be a woman?

Just Speculating, that's all. Tongue

EDIT: The real money should be someone rather well known and a "family values" man. So not Kennedy, that wouldn't be surprising to Larry Flynt. I don't know every senator (as I'm not American) but what I do know about my money is on Jim Bunning.
