This poll shows what the other polls show, Sununu is in deep trouble. Down by 16% against Shaheen. Even against the 2nd and 3rd tier challengers, his numbers are horrible:

CNN/WMUR Poll (conducted by UNH Survey Center (7/19/07)), 524 adults sampled:

Shaheen  54%
Sununu    38%

Sununu     42%
Marchand  38%

Sununu    43%
Swett       39%

Sununu   44%
Buckey    28%

Well, of course it would be best if Shaheen runs, so that Sununu is the next Santorum, and we don't use a lot of resources in our victory. It'll be interesting to see NH simulatenously elect a Democratic Senator, 2 Democratic representatives, a Democratic governor, and a Democratic legilslature, and vote Democratic for President.  Remember, this was George HW Bush's 2nd best state in 1988. The live free or die state has had it with the Republican party.

Most of the connected people here in NH strongly feel that she will run.  I don't think there'd be a "Draft Shaheen" movement led by the former state party chair Kathy Sullivan if she wasn't going to run.  But she is doing a good job staying quiet.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet on her running. This Senate seat is hers if she wants it, and most don't see her passing that up.  I think Marchand would kick Sununu's ass as well.

Sununu's gone and I've known that for a while.

I think Marchard is Sununu's most likely opponent, I think Shaheen wants to do other things. And he is a slight underdog.
