There was no "telling it like it is" when it comes to that gun comment. He just wanted to be an asshole and throw a cheap shot for ten seconds of applause.

Although Biden was 100% correct with his sentiments, it wasn't a wise thing to say, and I understand how people could misinterpret it.
So just call it a gaffe and move on.

I can't see why else he'd call someone mentally unstable like three times other than to be an asshole.

I still think that the questioner was pointing out that gun control was ineffective because he purchased it under a ban.  Which was his main point.

It wasn't even a joke either; I'm pretty sure Biden said at least twice "No, I'm serious!".

Biden's way too gaffe prone to be chosen for anything that matters (VP/SoS/SoD/etc.).
