Hillary is by far the weakest against the GOP than Obama. I think the Gallup poll had alot to say about the chances of Hillary as well as this poll.

One of the few polls I would trust in the summer months, imo.  The Barack vs. Rudy numbers show the generic Dem advantage we're witnessing right now.

I've always said Hillary might be the one chance Republicans might have in a down GOP cycle.  Not saying she'll be beaten but at least with her there is a darned good chance.  Be interesting to see if Dems nominate her anyway.  I say they do.

Funny, I actually see Barack and Edwards as easier to beat than Hillary. Hillary atleast has some substance, while Obama is all style and Edwards is tettering between joining the red cross or running for President.

Agreed that the light has yet to shine on Obama.

I mean, okay...the guy is a good speaker, sharp, optimistic like a Hallmark card, and those damn purple lips have young women all over the country hungry to give him CPR....but in the end...where is the substance?

People killin', people dyin', children hurt and you hear them cryin'....

Thing is, the Hillary machine will roll right over Obama towards the nomination.  She's and the rest of Clinton Inc. are not gonna let some upstart get in their way of a lifelong ambition.  I think Obama is angling towards the vp slot.

John McCain was a very similar position to GW Bush in the summer of 1999, and he caught onto voters, I still think it is too early to count anyone out. Everyone had Liz Dole as being the second place candidate to GW Bush at this stage last time. I think in a non incumbant cycle, things can change.

As far as Obama's substance, alot of people want change in Washington, and don't want insiders, I think this is why McCain has done so poorly because he is tied to Bush. Obama is from Washington but his ideas about getting us out of Iraq is much better than Clinton's or Giuliani's stay the course.
