A tad opportunistic of course, but worth preparing some groundwork at this stage.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/6917542.stm

''First Minister Alex Salmond is to publish a white paper proposing a Scottish independence referendum. The document will be released in about two weeks' time as part of the SNP's plans to mark 100 days in power, it is understood.''

Get rid of the UK. Give Japan the UK's former security council spot and Brazil the security council spot France had.

I'd give Japan the spot that France has and keep the UK. Seriously, you have to keep one or the other, Britain or France, and the UK is preferable. Latin America is a problem because it should theoretically have a spot, but it really can't. Brazil isn't nearly ready and it doesn't represent most of Latin America anyway; I also think you'd find them as disagreeable as the French

The UK is a fading nation so give its seat in the SC to Japan. Also becauseI think it should pay a price for retaining the monarchy. And lastly because I can.

So, you want rid of the UK partly because she has retained the monarchy, only to give the seat to Japan Huh Last time I looked Japan had an emperor. Is he not a monarch?

None of the defeated Axis powers in 1945 should ever be granted a permanent seat on the UN Security Council

WWII was 60 years ago. Get over it. Japan deserves an SC seat due to its economic power. Hell give India an SC seat too to replace the frnech SC seat.
