I have no fuggin idea. Perhaps if everyone started thinking about life the same way thought about it before the civil rights era....Then again, the South has a vibrant semi-professional and professional class that has been kept conservative, and not cosmopolitan by adapting to the reactionary agrian southern culture. (there was some HIGH industrial projects in the South in its time, but it just appears that it went straight from an agricultural to a service-based economy with not much of its own original industrial adolescence.

Nelson Rockefeller comes back from the dead?

Seriously, the Republicans nominate some prominent Northeastern County Club Republican, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe ect.

Whilst, the Democrats revert back to their roots before the 1964 Presidential Election, and nominate a conservative Democrat like Zell Miller or Mississippi Congressman Gene Taylor.

The Republican would have to be Mitt Romney and the Democrat would have to be a segregationist ultra-conservative baptist Democrat, but that still doesn't explain Florida.  I'm really perplexed that this could happen.

Yeah because Edwards helped so much in the South last time...

Why would Ridge lose Utah?
