Another bill trying to descriminate against the Southeast

The bill is not specifically aimed with any region or regions in mind.

Indeed.  Why would DWDL want to use federal funds to allow children to go to racially segregated schools? Sad

I have other oppositions to the bill because of the loose wording and easy misinterpretation.  Someone could construe a morning prayer in homeroom as exclusion of some religion and then deny funding.  You are also discriminating against single-sex schools, something that is common practice in Atlasia today

Why should the federal government fund religious or segregationist schools?  If you want voucher programs, fine, but don't expect federal money for it.  How about an amendment barring funding going towards those specific schools, but not otherwise affecting the status of voucher programs?

The vagueness is still what worries me along with Section C, if a parent wants to send their kid to a school where corporal punishment is used, let them.  This is certainly money better spent that a condom distribution program

I already said this in the protest thread, but I see it is on the floor. So I'll add this:

Government vouchers don't fund the school, they fund the student.  If a student chooses to go to a religious-based school, then he should not be denied a voucher because it is religious-based.  In fact, that is even more of a violation of church and state as the government denies a qualified student a voucher because of religion.

Most of my bills are quite simple actually, only a few have been confusing and they were withdrawn

Nay

Way too drastic of a step, it also does not specify whether a student currently enrolled in a school and receiving a voucher is still eligible.

Ex. A student just finished their freshman year at High School A, they cannot afford the school without the voucher, does this student get to finish out the year?  I am not completly opposed to removing vouchers, however, this amendment is a rash, not well thought out response and I think was more of a reaction than an actual amendment

Depressing to see how predictable voting in this Senate has been isn't it?
