Daniels. He has weaker opponents and is in a far stronger state for him. He might also benefit from presidential coattails. Blunt however has the strongest possible opponent, and he's in what's traditionally a marginal state, where no presidential race will give him a boost, might even hurt him if the Democrat manages to win Missouri. If that happens, Blunt is done, and I think he's going to lose anyway. Daniels has around a 50/50 chance.

Yes, anyone who predicted a Santorum victory should never say anything of this sort ever again.

Optimism, it's actually illegal only in states that discourage freedom like MA and CA

There's a line between optimism and delusions. I mean, seriously, get real, do you honestly think Fletcher can hang on? Being down by THAT much in the polls is absoultely brutal. Nixon also destroys Blunt in the polls. And Rossi won't get as close as he did last time.

Fletcher is most likely a lost cause.  However, Blunt's election is far away and I think how the state goes presidentially could have a huge impact on the race.  I maintain that Rossi will win.

Yeah, like he's going to get so close with the steady upward trend of Gregoire's approvals AND the fact that nobody likes people who call for a "re-vote." Roll Eyes

If Fletcher is a lost cause then why did you just predict that he'd win?

There's nothing wrong with predicting a candidate to win, even if you know he's probably not going to.

It's just an internet forum...if I were getting paid, and people as a whole actually paid attention to my predictions, then I would do them differently.

Do that and you'll be endlessly hassled over it like Walter and Phil are now, and whenever you make a new prediction people will just laugh at you and make fun of your record, as you can see by the above two. It's just a stupid thing to do.

Daniels...more Republican state, less strong opposition, higher approval ratings.

Daniels will probably narrowly win, while Blunt will likely narrowly lose.

I doubt Blunt will narrowly lose, especially considering the last poll had him down more than 20 points. I doubt he'll lose by that much, but it won't be all that close.
