How Do I Personal Message Someone and How Do I Ask Someone to be My Buddy?

If you want to PM somebody and you're on a thread page, you look at the avatar of the person you want to PM.  Below that should be 1 of 2 icons:

 - online
 - offline.

Click whichever one is displaying.

If you want to do it from somebody's profile page, the same icons will be there.

For adding a buddy:

Go to profile --> edit Buddies --> type the name of the person you want to add.

You can also add a buddy by going to his profile and clicking [Add to Buddy List]. 

In the old Profile layout, it's adjacent to "Current Status."  In the new layout, it's the first link in the Section labeled "Contact Me i][/i])"
