The National Foundation for the Protection of Secularism is an organization founded around one principle, that being the defense and protection of secularism and the seperation of church and state/politics.

The NFPS stands for secular schools, a clean and secular government, and freedom of religion and beliefs at a personal level. We are strongly against the intervention of the church or any religious institution into politics.

I'm glad such as cause has finally started in Atlasia. I would love to join the NFPS, If I'm welcome of course. We better stop Atlasia from being dominated by the Religious Right (if there is one, in Atlasia) and Reverands running for President!

Depends.  What's the NFPS's position on school vouchers including religious schools among the choices they can be used for?  Some people who claim to be pro-secular are actually anti-religious.  I consider myself among the former, but not the latter.

We're not radical seculars, we're people who believe in a god but that think that religion should be private and not interfere with political going-ons. I, for example, am not atheist.

We, however, support secular public education. Private education should be controlled as well, but to a lesser extent than government-aided public schools. People are free to choose their own schools, but they should be aware that no religious education will happen in public schools.

Well not exactly, Speed of Sound, Porce, Verily, and myself don't really believe in a god and I think that's a majority of the people in this organization. Wink

I think I'll wait and see what sort of a track record this organization establishes first.

It occurs to me that it may be time for the Atlas churches to become more active again.

The NFPS is not opposed to religion. We respect freedom of religion as long at its personal and that religion does not interfere in government.

If you meant for churches to become more active but still have no intervention on government, then you may do so. If you meant churches to intervene more directly in government, the NFPS is of course opposed.

Note to members- An NFPS convention will be held very quickly.

I urge the NFPS to come out against the Midwest's jury selection proposition due to its preference towards Davists in its jury oath, suggesting that nonbelievers arent good enough to be jurors.
