Very right-wing; can't imagine he's very happy with the direction in which Cameron is trying to steer the Tories. He's appeared in the media a few times mouthing off against 'political correctness'. He was elected in 2005, defeating Labour high-flier Chris Leslie by just over a hundred votes.

...in a seat that, thanks to demographic changes, the Tories had no business losing in the first place.

Yes, Davis does seem very right wing. A virulently Europhobe member of the Cornerstone Group. He defeated Leslie by 422 votes; however, Wells gives Shipley a notional Conservative majority of 159 after boundary changes. The new constituency comprises 94.9% of Shipley and 4.3% of Bradford North

There seems to be a fair few (around five or six) members of the Cornerstone Group younger than me. It would be a bit worrying were they to become the "future" of the Conservative Party
