gold or orange would be best, depending on how libertarian we intend to be in our liberalism.

To clarify about colors, I was thinking of something along the lines of the ELDR (European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/85/ELDR_logo.svg

Well, my reference to the ELDR was for the colors, not the logo. Still, I am partial to the "goose".

Afleitch's logo looks reasonable to me.

I've set up a very basic Wiki page for the NLC to be updated once there's actually, you know, a platform.

All, right, well, I've opened a new thread for policy discussion. Since no one seems to want to discuss chairmanship, we'll be doing this on an ad hoc basis.

I saw that, but no one else seems to want to discuss it, so I let it lie.

I'd have taken it as one of those "without opposition" things, but now that it's been seconded...maybe we should give it 24 hours before declaring you elected without opposition?

Unrelated correction, Mideast elections are in September 2007 and not in November.

I move that Verily be made party chairman.

I also ask for unanimous consent on this motion.

Excellent, the Democratic Centre will have a similar logo.

Seconded.

Point of order to the very-likely-Chair, what is difference between Membership of the NLC and being affiliated to the NLC?

My hope is that affiliation is a temporary status that will at some point be resolved by membership in the party. The exception to this is Hashemite's Democratic Centre, which has expressed a desire to be allied with the NLC, a desire which I see no reason not to support.

In my case, I was elected as an independent, and I feel a duty to remain independent throughout my term.  So...I'm merely affiliated.  Should I seek re-election, however, I anticipate doing so as an NLC-er, provided the platform discussions don't go horribly awry.

I think the main difference is that while affiliateds are part of the discussion, only members get to vote.

Well I have joined, I think this is a great idea we've need a liberal/moderate libertarian party for some time now and I think Verily has done a great job so far, he'd have my support for chair.

As for colours it is rather traditional in Atlasia that centrist liberal parties use a blue-green theme whereas more libertarian parties have usually used a blue-yellow theme, see the Constitutional Union Party and the FDP. I personally like afleitch's first design better than the bird, not one much for bird's in logos even when they're rather nice like the ELDRs.

Don't worry about that Mr. Moderate Atlasia has cared about with party your affliated with in about a year and a half. Politics has become completely personalized so that I'm sure the same people would have voted for you if you were a National Liberal than if you were an Independent.
