The question is: Do we want another Joe Lieberman? Lieberman votes to the left of Nelson too, but he undermines the party more. If I had to choose one to be chucked, it'd be Lieberman.

Connecticut could elect someone better for the party than Lieberman. Kerrey is easily the best Senator Nebraska could elect.

My only concern with Hagel potentially retiring is that if a Republican replaces him, he/she will definitely be to the right of Hagel.
