Well, considering abstain isn't really a vote I don't think it matters much.  Wink

I wonder why you're holding a primary at all - doesn't the election system make that bloody unnecessary?

We have two wanting to be the UAC Candidate. We cannot field two candidates, it just doesn't happen so we are choosing one by a primary.

Why can't you have two candidates? I guess it might not look good, but there's no technical or legal problem.

Even if we did want to field two candidates, part of the fun in elections is holding primaries, I always thought.

The way I see it, the loser of the primary can still run in the general election if he chooses to, but will not have his party's endorsement.

The loser can run as an independent, the winner will be running under the UAC Banner although that may not equal an endorsement. That is up to the leadership council to decide, none of whom can vote in the primary as they aren't in District five.
