I think Giuliani's election to the presidency might be somewhat like Nixon's. A pro-war candidate getting narrowly but comfortably over the line.

No. Nixon had some ethics and principles.

No; Nixon was more capable, and more ethical than Giuliani.

Also, Nixon didn't campaign as "pro-war," he campaigned as having a 'secret plan' to end the Vietnam War with 'peace and honor.' Giuliani and the other GOP candidates (with the exception of Paul and Brownback) don't understand that in order to win, they need to do the exact same thing on Iraq.

No.  Giuliani is what Republicans were at the turn of the century:  a bit progressive on social issues.  Common sense on fiscal issues.  Maybe too aggresice on foreign policy.  Giuliani would be more like a Teddy Roosevelt.

A Hillary Clinton Administration would be much more like a Nixon Presidency:  both are majorly flawed characters with chips on their shoulders who care for nothing except power.

Nixon wasn't just an anti-semite, he was anti-everyone.  Smile to your face, spit on your back.

Rudy is much more what-you-see-is-what-you-get.

Yes, Giuliani would be very similar to Nixon in his presidency. However, so will Hillary, unfortunately.

I disagree with you on the first, agree on the second. Nixon actually governed like a Liberal with the exception of Vietnam and a few things, chances are Giuliani will govern much more to the Right.

Nixon wasn't that bad.

On the other hand, Giuliani is an authoritarian extremist.

I doubt he'd grow the mustache. Kinda hard to find wife #4 when you have an ugly little thing like that above your lip.

I don't think it would. Giuliani seems quite socially authoritarian.

And Nixon's wasn't... ?

Btw, I was travelling throughout the UK (Though I actually made the mistake of saying I was travelling through England... in a bar in Edinburgh.) and I think in order to speed up my journey, dependant as it was on public Transport (I know understand The Divine's Comedy "National Express" song) and on foot, I must have jaywalked at least 100 times. Amazingly this did not turn me into a social deviant, except perhaps in eyes of some Scottish pub patrons nor did they involved in any accident worthy of note. Just felt like bringing this up, you know...
