Warner will save himself as a VP choice for Clinton (he's the most logical choice for her) and not run for the Senate. That is my guess.

Yesterday Mark Warner said this:

"I think I’ve got two great options, to either try and run for governor again or try and take Senator Warner's seat in the Senate,” Warner said.  “What I'm evaluating is where I can make the most difference and Lord knows Washington could use some fixing up."

"Well, I think it's fair to say I'd love to be a job applicant again, that I’d ask the people of Virginia to hire me, whether it's for Senator or Governor, that's the choice I've got to make.”

Warner says he'll announce his decision in the next week or so.

Well, he's seriously considerring his options Smiley. "Well, Mark, you fixed Virginia, get yersel away and fix Washington Cheesy. You can always consider the governorship again once some Republican comes along and makes an arse of the Commonwealth"

having heard warner speak publicly and be interviewed, i think he's much better-suited to the senate than to a presidential run. Of course, there are much worse things than a long career in the senate.
