While on the surface this looks manageable, the Clinton opponents will be digging deep into donation records try to create a pattern that can be spun into a bigger story allowing opponents to run ads that say,

"Vote no against the return to the scandal ridden Clintons"

We wouldn't elect a lesbian or a crossdressing man so HRC is out anyways.

Unless they can prove she knew about his illegal activity I doubt this will have much of an effect.  Its still early enough for this to blow over without hurting her.  Most people are more focused on Craig at the moment anyways.

I wonder if this will get as much play as Edwards' hair and Obama's Pakistan comment.

As an aside: I love how the British says "Mrs Clinton" instead of just "Clinton."

Doesn't sound like much... I can't remember any campaign where something like this hasn't happened to more than one of the candidates. Only if something surfaces to show she knew he had done or was doing something illegal would it be a big deal, I think.

The Wall Street Journal is similar; it always refers to politicians by the title of Mr. or Mrs. in every single reference to them. It's considered a more formal and polite way of speaking/writing.

I hate Clinton as much as the next red blooded American but I don't really see this going anywhere.

Not surprisingly, Hsu did not show up at his bail hearing today, did not turn in his passport and had his $2 million bail revoked.

I suspect he's in [insert foreign country here] right about now.  Geez.

Look who's picture CNN is running with the arrest story.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/09/07/hsu.arrest/index.html

I agree this is unlikely to cause any major problems for Hillary or Obama.  However, I do think this is the Democratic version of the Republican Jack Abramaoff lobbyist scandal.

It makes it harder for the Dems to take the moral high ground on associating with crooks and scum.
