Do you honestly believe there's a chance of him NOT being convicted?

The evidence is overwhelming. This is basically an open and shut case.

Negative, but remember "innocent until proven guilty", unlike Craig.

Too bad the Dems nominated Karen Carter, talk about the wrong candidate for that CD - I suspect we're going Nagin in 2008 if Jefferson's position worsens any.

Horrible Person (D). Confine all 'criminal' and other 'bad' behaviour to the GOP, I say

I saw him give a speech on C-Span once, where he was talking about not being afraid to buck the party line and support things like free trade because it was good for his district. Seems like a nice guy, and the people in his district did reelect him. On the other hand, I'm not really a fan of corruption, but as far as I’m concerned, as long as he continues to have the support of his district, then he's alright.

Option 2 X Googleplex

If it weren't for Jefferson and Mollahan, the entire Democratic cacucus would be corruption free. Instead, the count is 10-2 in favor of corrupt GOPers.

They had a horrible and mismanaged case. It might happen to be he wasn't convicted because he happens to be innocent.

Is there anyone else? The only other name I came up with was Mollohan. But I didn't browse names to refresh my memory.

You must be thinking of scandal-free.  Both Al and I are referring to his statement of corruption-free, a very different phrase, indeed.
