I know that Perot would not have had picked Mario Cuomo for his running mate, but lets say that he did. How would this election have had turned out? Discuss.

Obviously Cuomo would've never accepted even if the nomination had been offered (which of course it wouldn't have been).

But in this alternate universe in which this actually can and does occur, Cuomo would draw a few more Democratic voters to Perot and away from Clinton (and let's face it, Stockdale didn't help Perot at all), but Clinton still wins easily. Perot makes a strong run at 2nd place in New York.

Does this 1992 map look familiar?  It should.  There is no change.

Cuomo on the Perot ticket does not take states away from Clinton and it does not take states away from Bush.

Cuomo is a stronger, however a more unrealistic, running mate than Stockdale.

Clinton/Gore                 370
Bush/Quayle                 168
Perot/Cuomo                    0
