Let's do this again.

Guns: Let me put it this way, the people who most harp about guns in the United States are the people I least want to see have any. Alas, that can not be a legal position.

Gambling: I think we should stop trying to make gambling middle class by national lottery ad campaigns and the like (I think the Americans will be lost by now). Gambling should be restricted only to dive bars, mob run casinos in Vegas and Atlantic City and (as we are so modern now) internet sites which run a dual business showing Russian Bondage porn. The way it should be.

Alcohol sales restrictions: Above because it is always hilarious to see Irish people trying to buy as much alcohol as they possible can on Holy Thursday because it is illegal to sell booze on Good Friday. It is actually profitable if anything.

Tobacco: Disapprove strongly but I'm stuck here... What position is there for someone who both dislikes puritanism yet also strongly dislikes superficial 'libertarianism'? People who get lung cancer from Smoking should directly pay all their own medical expenses... I think this might help solve the problem more than your average "Hey KIDS IT'S KEWL NOT TWO SMOKE LOLZ!!!11"

Smoking in public: Depends where. Not in crowded areas though.

Tobacco advertising: Modern commercial advertising is one of the enemies of civilization. End of.

Strip clubs: Disapprove. But should be legal. Residents though should have a right to complain very loudly if one sets up near them.

Fashion industry: Disapprove in general.

Pornography: Should be legal, however...

Prostitution: See above. (I will add that I don't consider either the pro/anti-prostitution or the pro/anti-pornography movements to be 'feminist' in any way. No feminist movement would be so considered with legal technicalities).

Fast food: Should be taxed very highly.

Pop sales in high schools: Shows how much the school cares about its 'students'. Is approve of "McDonalds presents with sponsorship by Rupert Murdoch 'The Happy McFun School of higher learnin'" libertarian or authoritian?

School uniforms: School decision. Don't Care.

Marketing to minors: Should be very illegal.

Violence in the media: Is a complete bore most of the time.

Sex in the media: See above except even more so.

Profanity in the media: Who fuk'in cares?

Suburban development: See what I said on Modern Commercial advertising.

Suburban development - Don't know what this is; if zoning, I actually tend to like simple zoning codes, as long as they're administered at the local level.  Preserves a neighborhood's character and an individual's investment in their property.  But, I'd prefer zoning be handled democratically and not as authoritarian practice, so L.

That's true, it would be one thing to force people to not paint their houses or property certain colors and another to just make that a contractual agreement for entering the neighborhood or something.

Why on Earth is sex worse than violence?

Pretty common sentiment unfortunately, just look at our ratings/censorship system in this country. Americans seem to take that Zardoz quote about the gun being good and the penis being evil to heart.

Someone has some explaining to do.

I'm glad you said something, because I was really scratching my head reading those responses.

Guns - Libertarian, allow people to defend their property.
Gambling - Libertarian, it's your money you can do what you like so long as it doesn't harm others.
Alcohol sales restrictions - Libertarian, for the above reason.
Tobacco - Libertarian for the above reason
Smoking in public - Libertarian, I highly doubt that smoking on a street would harm others.
Tobacco advertising - Libertarian
Strip clubs - Libertarian, if the stripper is happy to be paid to strip and the customer is happy to pay and people aren't being harmed, what's the problem?
Fashion industry (in relation to eating disorders) - Guffaw. Libertarian
Fashion industry (in relation to "morality") - Guffaw. Libertarian
Pornography - Libertarian for the same reason as with strip clubs.
Prostitution - Libertarian, for the same reason as with strip clubs.
Fast food - Very very libertarian, overregulation of fast food is nanny state gone mad.
Pop sales in high schools - Very very libertarian, people drink fizzy drinks, like it or not, government can't change that.
School uniforms - Don't know, I can see the advantages of both sides of the argument. I guess libertarian
Marketing to minors - Very libertarian, minors do things that government can't change.
Violence in the media - Libertarian, regulation of what goes on tv screens is nanny state gone mad.
Sex in the media - ditto, libertarian
Profanity in the media - ditto, libertarian
Suburban development - Why in god's name should the government decide that people can't live a pleasant life in the suburbs? Libertarian.
