I am of course talking about the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Canada lost to Norway this morning 2-1. At least we didn't get blown out.  However, I like our chances against the Aussies.

Appearantly the United States can only beat North Korea in the United States (see 1999 and 2003 World Cups).  Clearly, North Korea's September 11th tie with the US was a victory for the terrorists.

Canada beats Ghana 4-0, but the friggin Aussies drew Norway, so we still have to beat the damn kangaroos.

Lol at the Germany - Argentina game.

I'm rooting for the United States and Deutschland. I assume they'll both do well.

Sweden has done really badly so far. We're probably out already...and we have reached the semis most of the time in recent years.

The Matildas probably won't win this thing, but lets hope they go through anyway.

And the second semi-final between the US and Brazil starts in 40 minutes. For the final between Germany and the US I suppose Germany has some sort of advantage because they had 1 day more for relaxing and practising, but hey - everything is possible. Wink

Miserable game, miserable decision to put the new keeper in.

From what I heard on the radio during the game, Brazil were the better team but just couldn't score (even a penalty was saved). Of course, no woman could score with Nadine Angerer during the entire tournament. Grin

Because it's wrong to care more about winning a tournament the world follows rather than a tournament the female soccer community follows.

Seriously, the only reason most people knew the tournament was going on was the US coach's boneheaded decision to bench his star goalie.
