"Trust" isn't exactly the same as "approve of".  But nonetheless interesting.  Not surprising they'd like the only prominent Austrian in American politics.

I'm curious who the heck the 13% are who distrust the Dalai Lama.  What on Earth kind of hidden agenda would someone think that the Dalai Lama would have?

Bill Gates: 43% - 29%
George W. Bush: 6% - 84%

So... Austrians trust Microsoft more than the White House? Wink

Anyway, I still remember how an Austrian I happen to know was a pain in the a.. during 2003, because he was soooo proud that Schwarzenegger will become Governor of California soon. Tongue

Erecting a fascist theocracy? Plotting nuclear war between India and China? (No, he's not actually doing the latter.) I'll grant you this much - the Dalai Lama is the only one on this list where I'd have paused a moment before saying no. Actually, if there was a "depends on what" option apart from yes, no, and don't know, I'd pick that one.

Why do the Austrians hate Jesus and embrace the pagan rituals of the orient?

The Dalai Lama is erecting a fascist theocracy?

Not if the Chinese have anything to say about it.

Given the "joys" of pre-conquest tibetan culture I can't say I support their bid for independence.

Considering he was on the CIA payroll for several decades and basically ran his own divine kleptocracy, I don't blame them.
