Perhaps Johanns should have followed Pat Roberts' lead -- then-Rep. Roberts waited until the Farm Bill was successfully passed and signed into law before announcing his decision to run for Senator.

Actual title of the article: Bid ‘borders on irresponsible,’ says Sen. Conrad as Mike Johanns looks toward run for the Senate

The only Farm Bill supporters who are angered appear to be Democrats.  What a surprise!

Placing one's political future over the Farm Bill, especially considering the federal largess at stake, is not a smart move. If Nebraska gets shafted, voters will know who to blame.
