Before the midterm elections, I feared Democrats taking control of Congress.  Well, perhaps fear is not the right word, but it is the nearest emotion to fear that I feel.

But now, months later, it's not so bad.  Sometimes I forget that the Dems are in control.

The Democrats are totally incompetent.  Bush's war continues, and Democrats can't (or don't) do a thing about it.  Bush is kind of like a king.  As a warmonger first and a Republican second, I couldn't be more pleased.

There are liberal conspiracy theorists out there who think that Bush might somehow use his dictatorial power to suspend elections and remain in office indefinitely.  I sure hope it happens, though it might also be fun to have Hillary Clinton win the presidential election and continue the war.  Liberals would hang themselves in despair.

I'm so elated right now.  But get this: this is the lowest point for my party since the 1970's.  And yet, there's been a cornucopia of good things happening lately.  Things are going great, and it can only get better.

I'm still going to be happy, even if a far left-wing fascist takes office and implements socialism.  You know why?  Because I don't give a damn.  They can't legislate happiness out of existence.

The only reason socialists exist is because they're miserable and they want rich people to be miserable with them.  By rich, I do not mean rich monetarily, I mean rich with happiness, rich with contentedness.

Therefore, the way to combat these types is to always be full of joy, no matter what.  The only time you should ever frown is out of mock pity.  When they see you happy, your enemies will be sad and jump off a cliff.

Thoughts?  Do Democrats really control Congress?

Of course Democrats control Congress.  They just brutally suck at getting anything done beyond passing symbolic garbage.

Yeah, it is annoying that the Republican filibuster everything. We should bring back the nuclear option. Just the threat of it got the Dems to compromise on judges. Turnabout is fairplay.

Yeah, gee, all of a sudden the Republicans are heavily in favor of minority rights in Congress; I can't imagine why. Tongue

Oh, please, there's no filibuster in the House and it's not like they're doing anything meaningful with their time.

Well, the Republican Party doesn't seem to have been reduced to innocuous levels.

Do the Democrats control Congress? No. I could have easily switched parties the other day when I finally got around to requesting a change of address with voter registration, but the Democrats don't deserve my support. Stupid bunch of jokes.

VD Blubb is apparently one of those people who misunderstand what is the Democratic Party.  Blub, that party, in practice, has nothing to do with 'liberalism'.
