I like Durkan.

Unfortunately, he has found himself in an incredibly difficult position - taking over the leadership from John Hume (impossible shoes to fill); facing an ever increasing electoral challenge from SF (which even Hume/Mallon couldn't deal with); leading a party which lacks many substantial personalities and whose age profile shifts more and more upwrads; and now facing the prospect of FF entering to compete or subsume them.

Has done ok electorally, but is facing a strong tide against him.
