Wrong.  Cigarette & alcohol taxes are a regressive tax on the poor.

WalterMitty/WalterMitty

Rich people don't smoke or drink?

I guess they could be a regressive tax in that they take up a higher percentage of a poor's income than a rich's, but as I said, I don't support alcohol taxes and in the case of tobacco it's only because smokers' disgusting and sickening habit negatively effects others as well.

And the fact that we already have regressive taxes on the poor is not a reason to create more of them.

Of course they do.  But the tax hits the poor harder than the rich.

And the fact that we already have regressive taxes on the poor is not a reason to create more of them.

I haven't advocated that.

You haven't, but Walter has. I'm basically explaining why his idea is retarded, idiotic and utter crap.

But still, he's not StatesRights.

I voted 'NDN', whoever that is, but I would gladly vote WalterMitty if I thought he had the better chance of winning.  StatesRights is basically BushIII.

Definitely not States Rights. WalterMitty's anti-union, pro-free trade, pro-endless war, anti-constitution stances would turn me off, but NDN is a little too far right for me.

NDN/NDN

On party loyalty, if nothing else.
