If Petraeus is a traitor, then it follows that he should be tried for treason.

Also, what would be the most appropriate punishment?  Would the death penalty be too harsh?  Perhaps life imprisonment?  If the death penalty, what form.  Lethal injection, gas chamber?  Your thoughts are appreciated.

he just should be recognized for what he is: a Bush hack hired to trumpet the Bush Iraq policy.  "only a pawn in their game..."

No, I think he's a well meaning man. I disagree with him, but until he's actively assisted our enemies, I say no.

hah, that's why Iraq has performed 'satisfactorily' on only 9 of 18 benchmarks.

the "best" hope is for a kleptocratic pro-US military dictatorship that costs us billions a year.

OK, so Bush says 9 out of 18 were met. That's still an F.

Yeah, but Bush likes to give himself a nice 15-point curve when it comes to grades.

That F? Merely a D! Yay, Democracy!

The distinction is exactly like that between Hitler and Germany.

Of course I voted 'yes' in the poll because it is the more 'left' position, but consider prosecuting toadies like this unimportant.

They would rather be "correct" than "right"... if you know what I mean.

Sad that I have to say that, but I think about 30% of the population really want failure in Iraq and they can't seem to get it fast enough.

Umm... you are taking that just a bit too seriously.  I have no desire to discuss cars or sports with anyone, because I find it about as interesting as dirt.  Other people can talk about it if they want to.  I never said I was going to stop them.

As for my response in this thread; ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
