I have been told by a contact of mine that tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of President Eisenhower sending in the National Guard to Little Rock, Arkansas to ensure the following of the 14th Amendent. I would like to know (as 1958 was a mid term year) what would have happened in those mid terms if Eisenhower's miltary operation had failed?

Well, the Republicans lost pretty badly in the '58 elections anyway, so it probably wouldn't have hurt much.
