Gentlemen, I would like to request that your provide sources for every finding, although that's not stopped anyone in the past for not doing so.

Further, any amendment to increase Embryonic Stem Cell Funding should be deemed frivolous to the current bill being debated. If you want to increase funding, introduce another bill.

I will not rule that the amendment is frivolous, however if the amendment passes, I may choose to divorce the amendment into a separate bill from the present legislation.

I will be opposing any government handouts on either matter.  Let private companies handle this and develop it like they're already doing quite well.

Frankly, I don't see any reason for any funding for this adult or embryonic stem cell research, since the private sector is funding and researching it quite strongly.  Ebowed's hypocrisy on this matter, however, is quite amusing.

As PPT, I'm allowing Ebowed's amendment, but I'm also making a motion for cloture after this vote is concluded.

It's not hypocrisy.  I simply support funding one and not the other.

Why?

Oh, and also, the way the amendment is worded, this would be one lump sum of $50 million in one fiscal year's budget, not a continued appropriation for every year.

But without a budget, that wouldn't really matter, would it.
