I sincerely hope that the Senate turns this bill down, and instead, considering Senator Ebowed's self-proclaimed enormous wealth, would donate money to adult stem-cell research with their own wallets, rather than forcing others to pay for their charitable donations.

I will be opposing any government handouts on either matter.  Let private companies handle this and develop it like they're already doing quite well.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

If someone who claims to have $4 trillion dollars or whatever pays for everything that the government otherwise would, what point is there having a government?

The point of having a government is to enforce the rule of law; to protect the people's right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. No private entity could do such a thing. Alternatively, a private entity could make charitable donations to worthy causes.
