This is going to blow "President Forever 2004" right out of the water.  Plus, it's actually being released in stores instead of just the internet.

"pf"?  i went on the site and looked at their pictures, and they showed a primary picture, so I'm assuming that's included in the game.  ...Huh

Looks like there will be primaries based on this screenshot of the beta.

Tnaks for the link! Looks like fun. I can't wait to set up a Lieberman v Giuliani race. I  hope they make Schwarzenegger a playable candidate, now that would be fun.

I also hope they don't do the ridiculous thing PF did and make all candidates equally viable, so that a Powell v Sharpton and a Lieberman v Bush race were more or less the exact same. (With Sharpton leading in Tennesssee...)

Question for people:

I know we have some Paradoxers on this forum, so I was wondering... should I buy Crusader Kings or Political Machine?

Crusader Kings (forum)
+ I've been reading some of the AARs on Paradox's forums, and they look really cool.
+ Controlling countries without those tricky things like diplomacy and military Wink
+ Weird dynasty thingies
+ It's written by Paradox; need I say more? Smiley

O It comes out September 21 in the US.

- It costs ~$10.00 more than tPM, or ~$20.00 if I go for the 'bare bones' tPM.
- Its graphics look like crap.
- I'll get it later than I'd get tPM, due to overseas shipping.
- It seems slightly confusing.  There should be a 'revert to EU depth' button or something!

Political Machine (forum)
+ It's about politics.
+ Me for President!
+ Cool looking graphics.
+ Costs less than CK.

O Comes out on August 10 (a week! Shocked)

- Not built by Paradox.
- Nothing to get me really excited about.
- A Democrat can win Utah (in one of the photos it seems that Utah is going Dem)
- Apparantly is pretty buggy.

I know I'll be able to get both eventually (I'm a money making machine during the summer Wink), I just want to get one now.

ITS YOUR CHOOSE! Cheesy

Well, you voted for CK (or that's what it seems), so I gave them a point Smiley

September 21, but you can get it now (if you want) over the Internet, because it's released in at least some of Europe already.

For instance, Gustaf can get it ( Grin ) because Paradox is HQed in Sweden Smiley

Like I said, you can order it now and get it earlier (in something like 11-14 days) Tongue

after the dissapointment that was HoI, i'm waiting for EU3 to buy another paradox game.

That said, I'll still vote for it. If you can afford it, and want it, get it.

I'm buying this game. It looks like a more in depth game than President Forver, much like "The Doonesbury Election Game" in 1996.

Hm, here's a question:
I could get CK from an Aussie dude on www.ebay.co.au, or I could get it from Paradox.  It costs $1 US more to get the Aussie dude's game than to get it from Paradox, due to shipping.  The Paradox game would come in about 2 weeks; the Aussie game would probably come between 1-3 weeks.

Should I risk it, buy the Aussie one, and hope that it comes in earlier than the Paradox one, or should I just take the safe bet and go with Paradox?

I have played the beta version of Political Machine already, and I must say that I like it better than President Forever.  It is still buggy, but that is to be expected in a beta version of course.

Looks like there will be primaries based on this screenshot of the beta.

I don't think this screenshot shows a primary...I think it shows the "campaign mode" of the game where you successively go up against increasingly difficult competition from the other party.
