look, brtd, after extensive travels through the nh, i can assure you it isnt the progressive haven you like to imagine.

it is more like the south minus the black people.  especially if you go north of say manchester and concord.

Umm what?  So its the Northern Bible Belt up there or something?

ahh yes its the bedrock of hardcore socialy conservatism and votes 85% Republican......

Iraq has obviously helped boost the dem trend in the state, but its far from the  only reason.

obviously sununu, who is a great senator, is in deep trouble.

He's only a 'great senator' if you agree with his positions (which I don't believe you do, WalterMitty).

It's nothing like the South, really. Yes, much of the state is rural but that's about it. It's one of the least religious states, and it's also one of the most highly educated states.

We're calling New Hampshire "the South without blacks" because there are handgun owners there and people like NASCAR?

Well...um...right.

Wow, people in NH like NASCAR! Damn. Mississippi of the north for sure. That obviously negates all the gains the Democrats have made in the state and Sununu's bad approval ratings and the fact that he barely won in a far more GOP-friendly climate for sure.

Sununu's approval ratings aren't great, but I wouldn't call them "bad."  His main problem is that Shaheen's approval ratings are much higher than they should be.
