2000 proved to be one of the most contentious and closely fought elections in history.
Bush 271, Gore 267
Without Florida and it's 25 EV, Bush would have lost the election.
Bush would have won the election, however, without Florida, if he had won the following states
Iowa, 7 EV, lost by 0.31% New Mexico, 5 EV, lost by 0.06% Oregon, 7 EV, lost by 0.44% Wisconsin, 11 EV, lost by 0.22%
The election, or course, was George W Bush/Dick Cheney v Al Gore/Joe Lieberman
My question is, would there have been another Vice Presidential nominee that Bush could have picked that would possibly have had enough influence with the electorate in these close states, possibly others, that would have secured Bush an outright, undisputed win in the Electoral College?
Please discuss.
