Less than 1% reporting, but Campbell has 40,000 to Jindal's 18,000. Very early but a little odd. It won't last long.
Foti is in third place for Attorney General. The other statewide incumbents are looking good.

Jindal is now at 30,000 and Campbell hasn't went up much.

I see Jindal at 44k and Campbell at 10k

I saw.  If only if had labels or roads lower than state route...or had an address find or something.  I'm salivating.  Live precinct results are my wet dream.

Amen to that one too.

With Georges black endorsements and two Dems in the race - the precinct results from Orleans Parish should be very ineteresting.

I was driving through New Orleans and saw a "Black Democrats for Jindal" sign with Rev. Ray Brown's name on the bottom. Brown was planning on running but changed his mind. So they all have support in the city.

Blue avatar for you the rest of November if not?
If you will wear a D-MS avatar if I'm right.

If you really prefer it to D-IL, sure.

GCR is calling it for Jindal without a run-off.

My prediction: Jindal will likely narrowly avoid a run-off, winning 50 to 51% of the vote.

All but one parishes so far reporting appear to have Jindal ahead, not that that means much.

Orleans has not yet reported, and the one non-Jindal parish is Red River, for Foster Campbell.

Really?  I haven't seen any coverage lately -all the focus has been on the governor's race.  So, how's it looking?  Will Democrats retain control of the Louisiana legislature?  Or does it look as if Republicans will gain control of at least one house of the legislature?

With 3,504 of 3,967 precincts reporting:

Jindal: 53% (599,036)
Boasso: 18% (198,678)
Georges: 14%
Campbell: 13%

Unsurprisingly, Mitch Landrieu leads the Lt. Gov's race, with 56% to Sammy Kershaw's 31%

Jay Dardenne (R) for SoS, with 63%

Runoff for Atty. General, with Buddy Caldwell (D) at 35% and Royal Alexander (R) and Charles Foti (D) both at 32% (Foti leading Alexander by 1.5k votes currently)

Agriculture & Forestry: looks like a runoff between Bob Odom (D) (42%) and Mike Strain (R) (40%)

Insurance: Jim Donelon (R) is on the edge of avoiding a runoff (50%), vs. Jim Crowley (D)'s 36%

Jindal got a majority, and so wins outright. The de-blacked Lousiana has replaced a far right-wing DINO with someone significantly more right-wing.

Dems went into the night with large majorities in both houses, but most of their incumbents term-limited out. For example, Dems had a 20 seat majority in the House, but 26 incumbents term-limited out. Also keep in mind, that some of the Dems who can run for re-election are really DINOs who may switch parties under a Governor Jindal.

So there is a fair amount of drama around legislative races. Most seem to think the Dems will keep (smaller) majorities, but we shall see...

The most fascinating numbers coming in are from Orleans Parish. The two Democrats are in 3rd and 4th and Republican-turned-Independent John Georges is winning. This is just remarkable. Katrina really has changed New Orleans, and the two Democrats did a horrible job with African-American turnout.

Holy crap. All 3 of the top candidates were Republicans at the beginning of this year. They got 86% between them.

It looks like the Democrats won a couple of Parishes - traditionally Republican Parishes (St. Bernard, Red River, etc)!!!

Though the final outcome of the race is pretty much as expected, the particulars are fascinating.
