Interesting.  I wonder why it is that he Democrats have outraised the GOP in states like Nebraska and Oklahoma, but have been outraised by the GOP in Michigan and Oregon?

Michigan is because of Romney's family ties to the state.

That probably helps but I think Michigan always raises more for Republicans than Democrats.  Think about the kind of rich people there, and also the historic Republicanism of the state.

I guess there is some merit to BushOklahoma's stance that OK is goin' Dem.

The top 3 fundraisers are Clinton, Edwards, Obama.

Does Wisconsin not include T. Thompson, or have the Democrats passed the Republicans there even with T. Thompson's numbers?

Here are the exact data for the state as a whole and the metro areas:

http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/presstatetots.asp?State=OK

Top 5:

Hillary Clinton -- $425.164
John Edwards -- $374,951
Barack Obama -- $366,385
Rudy Giuliani -- $328,450
John McCain -- $145,941

Thompson's still the biggest individual fundraiser in WI (slightly ahead of Obama), but the Dems in aggregate beat the GOP in aggregate.

I have a theory that Alabama goes Dem in 2008. This reinforces my theory.

Yes, I do realize this is not at all realistic, or even relevant in any way, but here are the electoral numbers if these were the way the states went in the 2008 election:

Dem-363 EV
Rep-175 EV

While it doesnt say much for the vote outcome, it does reinforce the gap in money.
