I have a proposition to make to Dave.
As you all know, I often consider myself a Democratic-Republican, because I share many views from both of those political parties, hence the name; Dem Rep Dan. I would consider myself MORE of a Democrat though, which is what I had my avatar as, a Democrat from Illinois. Just recently, I have switched my avatar in order be Supersoulty's running mate and balance the ticket and sweep us into victory.
Anyway, I have become quite dissatisfied with the avatars. A Democratic avatar is fine, a Republican avatar is fine, and an Independent avatar (declaring you are an Independent voter, or Independent of BOTH political parties) is fine as well. However, what about us centrists? There may not be very many of us here at the forum, but I know there is me and Christopher Michael, and maybe some others...I dunno. But we should still have an avatar devoted to our political beliefs.
Accordingly, I have constructed an avatar that represents both political parties. Not the Democratic avatar, not the Republican avatar, not even the independent avatar, but....*drum roll*......the Democratic-Republican Avatar!
Here is an example of the Democratic-Republican avatar from my home state of Illinois. I have an avatar for EACH state (As well as the District of Columbia).
I ask of Dave, that he, out of the goodness of his heart, put up my Democratic-Republican Avatars. If he accepts my request, I will email him these avatars in order for him to load them up into the avatars at the forum. And it would indeed be GREATLY appreciated by me. However, if he declines my request, I will respect his decision, after all, this is HIS forum. But it's not like I'm gonna beg...after all......
OH PLEEEEASE!!! PRETTY PLEASE!!!! ADD MY AVATARS PLEEEEASE!! DAVE!! PLEASE!!!!!!

Another thing...while I was rummaging through the avatars...and using them as a template for creating mine. It came to my attention that there IS NO avatar for the
Green Mountain State
. Yup, that's right, you heard it here first, folks. There's NO avatar for the state of Vermont!
I wonder why Dave forgot about Vermont. Did it just....slip his mind? Or does he HATE Gov. Howard Dean SOO much....that while making the avatars he said.."You know what? Vermont! And everyone FROM Vermont! Especially YOU Governor HOWARD DEAN!"
Or perhaps...there is some LIMIT to the number of pictures you can have in the avatars. Because there are 50 Democratic Avatars, 50 Republican, and 50 Independent. That adds up to 150. So..MAYBE..the limited amount of pictures you can have is 150...and Dave arbitrarily decided to get rid of Vermont
Although, one would think that if you HAD to oust a state..you would pick Wyoming, since Wyoming is the smallest state by population, therefore the chances that someone FROM the
Equality State
would join the forum...are very minimal.
However, this can be contradicted, because I remember in another thread that Dave himself was toying with the idea of making avatars for our European and Canadian friends. Accordingly, there CAN'T be a limit for pictures if he intends to follow through with this.
Sadly, if there IS some type of limit to the pictures...then that means my hope of having the Democratic-Republican avatars put in place will never happen. HOPEFULLY, this is not the case..and Dave can fit as many pictures as he wants for the avatars.
So...while I was making MY Democratic-Republican avatars...and noticed the lack of Vermont....I decided to give Dave a hand...and MAKE Vermont for him! So here it is...
And as you have probably assumed...I have already made the Vermont Democratic-Republican avatar.
If you want me to send you the Democrat, Republican, and Independent avatars for Vermont, just let me know, Dave.
Although, I hope that I'll be sending you the Democratic-Republican avatars as well. In fact..maybe I should do like they do in congress. I should put two things in one. So if you want the Vermont avatars, you gotta take all the Democratic-Republican avatars as well. You can't have one without the other.
That's all I have to say. I've said too much as it is. I hope you respond to both of my questions, Dave.

So? What does it matter?
The D-R avatars will give me even more choices

It doesn't really matter, I was just making a lame attempt at a smear campaign...

Just think of all the extra avatars you could use! You'd be like a kid in a candy store! You'd NEVER use the same avatar twice in one year!!

Yeah..and then Dave may have his "international" avatars as well. I don't know how many that would be.
P.S. And it would be 204 useable avatars. 51+51+51+51=204

I should have thought of this comeback sooner......but oh well....
I thought you were a Democrat! And you say you're happy with the avatar situation right now? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?! ARE YOU A REPUBLICAN?! ARE YOU AFRAID OF CHANGE?!

I say one colour for Dems, one for Reps, one for Demreps, one for leftist independents (greens, etc, people like McFarlan), one for rightist independents (libertarians, etc, people like JNB), one for "true" independents (someone like MortfromNewYak, maybe), and that would be it. That's 5. Then we have 51 states + about 45 European countries, making it 96*5=480!
Then MiamiU could have one new avatar every day!
Or then again, maybe not...

Don't go TOO overboard. This may discourage Dave from even putting up the Dem Rep avatars for each state.
He still hasn't responded you know...

How about this: 2 columns in the menu
Column one has the state outline
Column two has the color and words.
Column one can contain 50 states, DC, PR, etc., Candian proviences, European countries, or whatever.
Column two could have:
Red--Democrat
Bright Blue--Republican
Red/Bright Blue--Dem/Rep
Bright Green--Green
Yellow--Libetarian
Gray or Black--Independent
Also, BTW, there's no D-Alaska avatar.

I like your idea about the columns, Harry. There are a lot of third parties though, so we would have to pick the most popular ones. Green, Libertarian, Reform..etc. But again, doing this may be TOO much...and it will discourage Dave from even wanting to put up my Dem Rep avatars.
And by the way.....there IS indeed a D-Alaska avatar.
Vermont is the only non-existant avatar...and I took care of that.....by MAKING one for Dave to use.
Although I haven't sent it to him yet...I'm still waiting for a response.

There should be an I-Alaska because they laways vote in large numbers for third party candidates.
