Was he born in the United States?

Yes, he was born in the USA.  His parents grew up in India (and his mom has a pretty thick accent IIRC, from when she would call on the phone), but he was born in the US.  The online biographies say that "his parents settled in Plymouth, MN", but IIRC, I think they actually settled in Pennsylvania first and he was born there, but then they moved to MN.  I might be misremembering that part though.....it was a long time ago.

All I know is that his parents came to the United States with only $20 in their pocket but then used $12 of that to buy a cheap bottle of champagne Wink
