This is such a ridiculous response to the debate, I had to post it:

"They say we’re playing the gender card. We are not. .... It’s discrimination against her as a candidate because she is a woman."

Methinks Ferraro does not know what "the gender card" is.

I think part of why McGovern and Mondale lost so badly was that they were idiots when it came to choosing running mates.

mcgovern chose a fine running mate to start with, but dropped him like a hot potato because he was 'mentally ill'.  hard to believe only 30+ years ago america was so backwards that you were disqualified from serving as president of vp if you had been depressed.

mondale should have chosen then san fran mayor dianne feinstein.

Was he dropped because he'd been electroshocked or because he'd been hospitalized for depression?
Either way it should be pointed out that dropping Eagleton hurt McGovern more than retaining him would have.

The funny thing was that McGovern's rival to the nomination Ed Muskey was also suffering from strong clinical depression and addicted to the drug ibogaine; yet for some reason despite both of those cases being somewhat known to the media they only reported on Eagleton's. Hmmm...

Hell if I were an American Politician in the 1970s I'd be depressed too. Actually I think you should leave out that "in the 1970s" bit...

the only people who are dumber than all the dumbass Hillary-supporters are all the Obama and-Edwards supporters who know perfectly well that a couple of one-term Senators are weaklings who are no match for the Hillary machine.

Its about time the adults started taking back control of the Democratic Party for once.

The biggest proof that this victim card is wholly disingenuous is that Richardson actually opposed any attacks on Clinton in the debate.  The "six against one" thing is total crap.

Notice that Hillary was never complaining about this in the earlier debates when only Gravel and Kucinich were attacking her.

Kucinich didn't really attack her in the debate at all either. He was going after Edwards.

Ferraro can jump off a bridge.

Bill Clinton has now made similarly weird "Hillary is a victim" comments, comparing Hillary's treatment in the debate to the swift boat ads run against John Kerry:

Damn, I figured they'd wait until the general election to start crying "we've been swift boated".  I guess if your hand is that obvious, you might as well play it as soon as possible.
