What's more scarier?

President George McGovern or President Dick Cheney.

Discuss.

In my mind, they are both scary. I would hate to have a President McGovern or a President Cheney. If I were American it would look like I'd be packing my bags for Canada very fast.

Or Ireland. That's where I'm going as soon as I leave this hell-hole known as the USA.

More scarier is not proper grammar. it's simply "scarier"

And the answer is Cheney hands down, considering McGovern was the best presidential candidate of the 20th century.

Sorry about that. I should have known, considering I'm averaging an A in English class. Now back onto the discussion of what is scarier President McGovern or President Cheney.

I would definitely vote for McGovern over Cheney. He'd certainly win, too, even today.

I went to Ireland last year, and toured Dublin, Killkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Cork, Galway, Sligo and Donegal. Except for in Dublin and Galway, most of the people we met seemed pretty conservative.

Oh in that case yeah you are probably right, I never said I was in the majority here actually I can't wait to get out of my country too. Btw, which parts of Dublin? When you are talking about Liberalism or Conservatism that matters quite alot.

Well, I mostly saw the older and more fashionable districts, I assume the more blue-collar or Middle Eastern-dominated parts were less liberal (although I don't know, 'cuz I never saw them)

What's more scarrier?  - Wow.

I accidentally said Cheney, but McGovern.  Although I wouldn't vote for Cheney, he's too old and in too bad of health, and other controversial issues.

The scariest thing about this thread is the prospect of you, Willy Woz, moving over here.

You're quite correct when you say we don't allow abortion on demand here. It still doesn't stop many thousands of Irish women travelling to Britain each year for that purpose.

For just about every other aspect of government policy though I'd be quite surprised if you would be best pleased... no death penalty, no constitutional right to bear arms, pro-immigration, socialised health care and education, military neutrality, a Green party in government, civil partnership legislation on the government agenda, etc...
