Obviously the only way anyone can beat Clinton is if they win the Iowa Caucus.  Unfortunately for Obama, it's being held on January 3rd.  His campaign is compeletely reliant on the young voters of the state, and with the caucus being held so early, it's obvious that a ton of 18-27 year olds will still be enjoying their Winter vacations.  With the youth vote severly diminished, is it still possible for Obama to win this Caucus?

Interesting point, but I don't know how many college students participate in the Iowa Caucuses.

It's funny: I know plenty of college kids who actually sold off their own belongings to donate money to the Dean campaign back in 2004, but I don't know a single one who actually voted for Dean.

Please quit abusing the phrase to "beg the question."

No, because candidates who rely exclusively on the "youth" vote are doomed from the start.

I would estimate that Obama has a 15% chance of winning the Democratic nomination.  I would not call that "doomed" but I wouldn't be betting money on his victory either.

While he obviously still isn't the favorite, I would say (if anything) Obama's chance of winning the nomination has went up over the past week. I'm curious to see if this last debate and its continuing coverage has any impact in Iowa.
