Delaware also seems surprisingly low to me.

Will Paul raise more than any of the other Republicans this quater? That would be pretty hilarious and awesome.

Doesn't stand a chance against Romney, but he'll win the record for most raised in one day among Republicans.

The fact that he is raising so much gives more meaning to the phrase "A fool and his money are soon parted."

Paul will break $3 million before the end of the hour, but that leaves only 4 more hours in the day, and he hasn't raised $1 million in any 4 hour period already, so I'll have to back down on my $4 million prediction. $3.6 million is my new prediction.

If there's an example of screwing up while trying to whore a concept for political gain, this is it.

Wow! Over $3.5 million with two hours left. Paul has sustained $200K/hr. since about 8:00 AM EST. He'll almost certainly end up with 3.7, while 3.9 isn't impossible.

Yeah, he really has soared now. There's an hour and a half left and he's got around $3.6 million, so he's already beat my revised prediction. Looks like he might come close to $4 million after all.

No kidding! I was expecting some sort of tail off in the rate of donations, which is why my $3.7M figure is  looking low only 1/2 hour after making the prediction--the rate actually increased.

So, how much airtime does $3.9M buy?

Depends on the station and the time. Though Iowa and New Hampshire's must no doubt be fairly cheap.

How?

I think he's gonna skyrocket again in the last hour, so that he can at least reach $5 mill.

The page now says: We are experiencing some bandwidth issues. Please limit your refreshing to once every 10 minutes or more!

Edit - I just refreshed - it looks as if he's beginning to hit 1 last spike here (or it could just be a little hump and not the big exponential increase that I predicted.

The website just hit the $7m mark.

That brings the day's total so far to:  $3,892,076

It just hit the $7million mark, so that means it's $3,892,076?

Ron Paul Graphs has him $12,000 under $4 million, but by my count it seems he did it.

Technically the West Coast still has another 3 hours, so the "day" isn't over yet.

Ron Paul is truly a master of the internet.

Like Dean, except Dean had a lot of popularity in other places, whereas Paul's main following is the internet.

Hmmm. One source with 2.3K over 4M, and another with 12K under. Probably didn't make it then.

Technically a day is a 24 hour period, so the day is over. That is to say: unless the west coast comes up big now, the early donaters of yesterday are "dropping off" from the most recent 24 hours and therefore Ron Paul's best day to date is behind us.

But the goal was to raise as much money as possible on November 5th and it's still November 5th.

Apparently they got 35,000 donors today and, in what I find perhaps the most impressive statistic of the day, 21,000 of those donors were new donors. Paul's fundraising base is bigger than ever.

All this glorifying of raising huge amounts of money to be wasted on bolstering the ego of a crazy old man.
