Kucinch introduces a motion to impeach Cheney.
Democrats generally vote to table it.
But, Republicans generally vote to not table it, stopping it from being tabled.
Pelosi needs to stop doing whatever the beltway pundits say is the best thing for Democrats to do.

Of course if the Democrats had balls and principles then of course any potential action by a "Bush clone" would be severly negated or at least damaged. Even if somehow the Republicans took back congress aswell as the Presidency in 2008. (Think of the damage 200 really determined congresspeople could do.. if they weren't busy worrying about their careers.)

I'm tired of this phoney "centrism" anyway. Moderation is mostly for cowards and those who look at history but never act. I say, bring it on.

Yeah, I don't like the moderation, but I can't agree with you that having a Republican President is not bad because the Democrat would be no better (and even in hindsight, Gore would've been no better than Bush)

Haha, if they're mangy dogs, then the Republicans are demonic sub-human mutant beasts.

Roll calls up.

Motion to table, failed 162-251 with 135 Democrats and 27 Republicans in favor, and 86 Democrats and 165 Republicans against.
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll1037.xml

Then there are 2 almost identical votes to send it to some committee (where it is expected to die). The latter one passed 218-194, with 214 Democrats and 4 Republicans (Gilchrest, Jones, Paul, Rogers) voting in favor and 189 Republicans and 5 Democrats (Filner, Kaptur, Kucinch,Towns,Waters) voting against.

The reason there's no Blue Dogs is cause of gerrymander that increase partisanship by having only one party that can win which means it's not so much who appeals to the broad electorate but who can appeal to the party.

Umm ... actually this could backfire on the GOP.  No one really takes Kucinich seriously.  But if the Republicans really want to move forward on this one there exists the possibility to uncover more dirt on this admin.

Unless the House GOP finally wants to separate itself from Bush...or if it thinks the risk is outweighed by the political reward

True.  It really depends who all sides on which side - but I really doubt that it'll get that far.  The Big 3 just need to distance themselves from this if they want any chance at winning hte General if they get the Dem. Nom.

I recently saw some poll that had Chenny's approval rating at 9%.   With an approval rating that low, who needs to impeach him?
Just play with the settings on his pacemaker.
