I've also met many state legislators, though I doubt anyone on this forum has heard of them.

Ditto on that one.  And several mayors, county officials, city officials, etc.

Acctually, some of you might have heard of former Erie Mayor Rick Filippi, because of all the scandal surrounding him.  It did make some national news.

Rick Perry is probably the big one, as I actually shook his hand and stuff. I'm sure I saw George W. Bush a few times while he was governor. Besides that I've met some state senators, city councilmen, mayors, etc. Paul Begala came to my school on Friday and talked to a group of about 20 of us, though I'm not sure he counts.

If we are counting politicians we've seen before from a distance that means, I have seen the following:

  • Premier John Brumby
  • Premier Steve Bracks (2002)
  • Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews
  • Fiona Richardson (Local State MP)
  • Senator Kim Carr
  • Opposition Leader Denis Napthine (2002)

I'm also quite sure I've seen Robert Doyle back in 2002 or 2003 on an Anzac Day at the Shrine of Rememberance. But that's it.
