okay, i tried to do much the same thing by taking the banner image of a Progressive Democrats of America Green Donkey logo from the top of this page - http://www.pdamerica.org-.   

what am i doing wrong here?  it still comes out like this:

The logo on that site has been broken up into two separate items.  I did a GIS for you and found this for you.  Any good?

You'd probably have to save the two images and edit them into one.
