And, more importantly, are they even aware of it?

And, more importantly, are they even aware of it?

Sometimes I mull that very question.  A good friend of mine is a pre-med student at Dartmouth who recently drank the Ron Paul kool-aid.  He's normally an intelligent, rational human being who avoid buying into the hype about candidates. Somehow, Paul's mix of isolationism and limited government has transformed him from politically ambivalent to a rabid Paul supporter.

Does Rep. Paul have the magnetism of a cult leader? He inspires cultish adoration from his followers. How can a diminutive man from Texas who's asserted that most young blacks are born criminals and the only way to fix the dollar is to dump the Federal Reserve elicit support from such as wide swath of people?

My guess?  Integrity.  No one that's run for President has had it in so long that the voters that are into that kind of thing are flocking towards Paul.  Sometimes they have to hold their nose to do it.

It's either that or there really is a LOT of (little l)ibertarians all over America.

(and Ron Paul isn't a racist no matter how many times you guys try to say he is)

Yes, but the more fanatical supporters of any candidate are too.
