House of Reprentatives only. For me 1967-1975 was the only time since Reconstruction.

Let's see my Electorate of Batman hasn't changed hands since 1910 (me thinks). It has been a Labor Party strongold ever since. It's the safest seat in the country to be precise, the Liberals need a 30+ percent swing to win it, it will never happen.

Well, assuming we mean "other party" as in "any other party", the NDP represented Saanich-Gulf Islands until 1993.  So that's 14 years.

I'd just like to restate my belief that that is the greatest name for a political division ever. Tongue

I wouldn't know how to find out, but Gephardt's district has probably not been Republican in a very long time.

And guess what, it's been it's name ever since it became an Electorate back in 1906. Not named after Batman, but after John Batman the man the found Melbourne and made a dodgy deal with the native and gullable Aboriginies.

Early this year. We just took this seat in 2006. Now in Minneapolis where I'll soon be the last Republican Representative left office in 1963.

At the federal level, not since 1906, and even then it wasn't so much an enemy party as not-the-alp. I think there was an alp-split off that held the seat for a few years, but the same member later rejoined the alp.

At the state level, I am fairly sure my electorate has never been represented by the liberals.

Labour gained Conwy in 1997. Before then it had last gone Labour in 1966.

Directly elected seat representing my Bundestag district

prior to 1990: Bundestag district didn't exist/didn't belong to the Federal Republic of Germany/wasn't located in a democracy

1990-1994: FDP

1994-2007: SPD

Well 'home' is Cavan-Monaghan, which has been a constituency since 1977 and since then representation has been:

1977-1981: 3 Fianna Fáil; 2 Fine Gael
1981-1982: 2 FF; 2 FG; 1 Anti-H Block
1982-1997: 3 FF; 2 FG
1997-2002: 2 FF; 2 FG; 1 Sinn Féin
2002-2007: 2 FF; 1 FG; 1 SF; 1 Independent
2007-Present: 3 FF; 1 FG; 1 SF

Shows clearly enough that the constituency has alweays had a strong republican streak; with the remainder tending to be divied up between FF and FG, lest exceptional circumstances arose (as often did).

(Note: The list ignores that from Tom Fitzpatrick was Ceann Comhairle (Speaker) during the 24th Dáil (Nov 1982-1987); and that Rory O'Hanlon was in the same position for the 29th Dáil (2002-2007) and so were both deemed elected unopposed - causing a skew in election results which for example allowed a technical FF gain this year.)

Currently live in Dublin West.

1981-1982: 3 FG; 2 FF
1982-1987: 2 FG; 2 FF; 1 Workers' Party
1987-1989: 2 FF; 1 FG; 1 Workers' Party; 1 Progressive Democrat
1989-1992: 2 FF; 2 FG; 1 Workers' Party
1992-1997: 2 FF; 1 Labour; 1 FG
1997-2002: 2 FF; 1 FG; 1 Socialist
2002-2007: 1 FF; 1 Socialist; 1 Lab
2007-Present: 1 FF: 1 FG: 1 Lab

Clearly has a strong hard-left presence with the minority left usually represented.

@Jas: I imagine the boundaries of Dublin West have shifted so much since 1981 to make those earlier results irrelevant.

My constituency has existed (well, reformed really.. its complicated..) since 1981. Though its boundaries have constantly shifted. The third Taoiseach Sean Lemass (1959-1966; Fianna Fail) represented this constituency. Despite this it has historically favoured Fine Gael more than Fianna Fail; due to being more Middle class, suburban and "west British" - factors associated more with FG than FF. Though this has changed quite alot in the past 20 years with the rise of the Progressive Democrats who have been pretty strong. It also has a decent soft left vote (*raises hand*) (enough for at least one seat). In 1992 the labour party made a major mistake in running only one candidate - when it won over 2 quotas worth of votes.

Dublin South:
1981: 2 Fianna Fail 3 Fine Gael
1982(I): 2FF 3FG
1982(II): 2FF 3FG
1987: 2FF 2FG 1 Progressive Democrat
1989: 2FF 2FG 1 Green Party (First Green ever elected in Ireland! And he's still one of the good guys - Roger Garland.)
1992: 2FF 1FG 1Labour 1PD
1997: 2FF 2FG 1PD
2002: 2FF 1FG 1GP 1PD
2007: 2FF 2FG 1GP

The seat I currently reside most of my time in now though is Kildare North, which has only existed since 2002 with one by-election in between:
2002: 1FF 1FG 1LAB
2004 (post by-election): IND gain from FF
2007: 2FF 1FG 1LAB

It is one of the fast growing regions of the country.

My hometown: Peter Blute (1993-1997). He lost in a smear campaign in 1996.

Where I am right now: No idea.

The 4th hasn't been represented by a democrat since 1968, so about 39 years.

Personally, I am a fan of Na h-Eileanan an Iar.

In any case, I think the last non-Democrat to represent where I live was Harold Hollenbeck, who lost re-election in 1982, although to be honest I'm not certain Englewood was a part of the 9th district at the time.

Ottawa-Vanier has never been Conservative federally since it's creation.

Holy crap, I looked it up and you weren't kidding.

Much less so today than it once was. The Conservatives would win it in a 1988-style election now.

The number has changed over the years following various censuses. It's been the 8th, 9th, and 10th.

The Democrats gained it last fall for the first time in awhile. Sherwood had held it since 1999 and McDade before him since 1963. Bill Scranton held the 10th from 1961-1963. If my home was in the 10th as of 1961, Stanley Prokop (D) represented the district and that would be the last time before 2007.
