Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful election.
That started in Washignton,
aboard a campaign bus.
The President was a confused man who couldn't spell "Iraq",
the Vice President snickery and sure.
Six politicians set sail that day,
for a three state tour, a three state tour………
The ratings started getting rough,
Ohio was toss-up.
If not for the charisma of Edwards,
Minnesota would be lost; Minnesota would be lost.
The bus took ground on the streets of Davenport,
with Gilligan,

the Skipper too,

the Millionaire, and his Wife,

the Movie Star,

the Professor, and Mary Ann,

It's good, except the first verse is a little awkward...

Shouldn't Badnarik be the professor?  He teaches a class on the Constitution.  That said I don't know what Peroutka does.

Mild editing:

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of election fuss.
That started out in Washington,
Aboard a campaign bus.

The President with quotes was weak,
The V. P. might be sure,
Five other pols set off that day,
For a three state tour, a three state tour………

The ratings started getting rough,
The Robo-polls were tossed.
If not for the charm of John Edwards,
Battlegrounds would be lost; Battlegrounds would be lost.

The bus took pause on the streets of some idyllic midwest town,
With Gilligan,

The Skipper too,

The Millionaire, and his Wife,

The Movie Star,

the Professor, and Mary Ann,

Here in Altas-i-a

And for a real twist, sing the first three verses to the tune of Amazing Grace.
